SMALL SPACE GEOMETRIC RETREAT

SANDY SPRINGS, GA

Transforming a Challenging Yard into a Geometric Pool Paradise

In our recent project in Sandy Springs, we tackled a unique challenge: creating a geometric pool in a small, sloped yard while creating a visually beautiful outdoor space. This project not only pushed the boundaries of design but also highlighted the importance of creative problem-solving in pool construction.

A Geometric Pool for a Small Space

This project focused on creating a sleek, geometric pool that seamlessly fit into a compact backyard. The client envisioned a modern aesthetic that emphasized clean lines and a minimalist design. Given the small space, we aimed to maximize the pool's functionality while maintaining an open, uncluttered feel.

Suppliers & Materials: The Backbone of Quality

We collaborated with top-notch suppliers to ensure every element of the pool met the highest standards:

Jandy: State-of-the-art pool equipment, ensuring efficiency, durability, and ease of use.

MPT: Offered a stunning selection of tiles and coping, enhancing the pool's geometric design.

SiteOne: Delivered high-quality landscaping materials to complement the pool area.

Pavers: We opted for premium options like Bell Guard and Technoblock, each chosen for their durability and aesthetic appeal.

Water Features: Adding a Touch of Elegance

To elevate the pool’s aesthetic, we incorporated two water features:

Bubblers: These subtle yet dynamic features added movement and a playful element to the pool’s surface.

Sheer Descent: This sleek waterfall feature provided a continuous flow of water, enhancing the tranquil atmosphere of the backyard.

Client Specifications: A Unique Vision for Turf and Cooling

One of the most distinctive aspects of this project was the client’s desire for an all-artificial turf setup, with no decking. Typically, clients request a combination of decking and turf, but in this case, the client wanted a unified, green space around the pool. This presented a unique challenge, as the turf needed to remain cool under the Georgia sun. To address this, we installed sprinklers specifically designed to keep the artificial turf cool, ensuring comfort during hot summer days.

Overcoming Challenges: Landscaping and Erosion Control

The site’s natural slope presented significant challenges in terms of drainage and erosion control. Extensive landscaping was required to stabilize the slope and prevent erosion, ensuring the long-term durability of the pool and surrounding area. Our team employed advanced techniques to create an effective drainage system that not only managed water flow but also complemented the overall design.

The Final Result: A Backyard Retreat

The completed project is a testament to the power of thoughtful design and expert execution. The geometric pool, set against a backdrop of lush artificial turf, creates a serene oasis in a small space. The carefully selected materials and features bring the client’s vision to life, while the extensive landscaping ensures the pool will remain a beautiful and functional part of their home for years to come.
